Art Burger is chair of Jackson & Campbell’s Professional Responsibility Practice Group, representing law firms and attorneys in matters related to legal ethics, including suits alleging breaches of fiduciary duties, disciplinary cases, conflicts of interest, motions to disqualify, fee disputes, law firm dissolution, attorney migration, unauthorized practice issues and related litigation.  In 2014, Art was appointed to the ABA Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility.  Art has over 35 years of experience as a civil litigator in federal and state courts, has served as an expert witness and is quoted frequently for his opinions on legal ethics and legal malpractice.  He was a member of the D.C. Bar Ethics Committee from 2003 to 2009 and was a member of the D.C. Bar Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee from 1998 to 2004.  In 2011, he was elected by the D.C. Bar to a 2-year term as a delegate to the ABA, where he worked with the ABA Ethics 20/20 Commission.  Art was selected as a "Best Lawyer®" in Ethics and Professional Responsibility Law in Best Lawyers of America © and has an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.

Art has taught numerous D.C. Bar/CLE courses on legal ethics, is on the Adjunct Faculty of George Mason University Law School, has published many articles regarding ethics for lawyers and is an active member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
