Ms. Nickel is an Associate in Jackson & Campbell, P.C.’s Health Law Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on defending doctors, hospitals, and health care providers in malpractice, privacy, licensing, and credentialing matters.

Ashley began her legal career serving as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Alfred Nance in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. As a judicial clerk, Ashley drafted opinions, wrote memoranda and recommendations for motions, and researched issues raised during hearings and trials. Following her clerkship, Ashley gained further litigation experience representing clients before state and federal courts in a variety of matters, including personal injury and premises liability. Through these experiences, Ashley gained insight into effective strategies to employ when addressing the myriad of issues that arise in litigation, whether within or outside of the courtroom.

Ashley received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where she currently instructs an International Commercial Arbitration Seminar each fall semester. Ashley also coaches the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot court team, which competes in Vienna, Austria and Hong Kong.
