Ms. Toomath-West is Senior Counsel at Jackson & Campbell, P.C. and a member of the Firm’s Health Law Practice Group. Courtney has successfully advocated on behalf of clients in complex disputes before tribunals, trial and appellate courts. She prides herself on finding strategic solutions for clients based on the unique circumstances of each matter.

Courtney’s career has been focused on litigation. She has handled a broad range of disputes including the defense of motor vehicle liability claims involving catastrophic personal injury claims and professional malpractice claims. Prior to joining Jackson & Campbell, Courtney had a practice in Toronto representing clients in the retail and hospitality industries in real estate and tax disputes.

Courtney serves as an Officer on the board of Women Lawyers On Guard, an organization that focuses on advancing equity through policy, legislation, education, and advocacy. She has worked on numerous initiatives including advocating for salary history ban legislation in Maryland, assisting with drafting and editing amicus briefs, and organizing the Work-Life Balance speaker series.

Courtney earned law degrees from Michigan State University College of Law and the University of Ottawa. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from McGill University. Courtney is admitted to practice in Ontario, New York, the District of Columbia, and she is seeking admission in Maryland.
