Mr. Sherman is an Associate in the firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group.  He concentrates his practice on performing legal research regarding complex coverage issues, drafting comprehensive, detailed and accurate coverage opinions under multiple policy forms, and handling all phases of insurance coverage litigation.

Oliver has significant insurance coverage experience.  Having previously worked for two prominent property and casualty insurance companies, Oliver independently drafted hundreds of reservations of rights letters evaluating the insurer’s duty to defend, allocation of covered and uncovered loss, and whether failure to provide timely notice of claims precluded coverage under policies.  Oliver also provided coverage counseling to underwriters, brokers and policyholders.

Oliver is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, Connecticut, the “insurance capital” of the United States.  As a student at the law school, Oliver took a series of courses on insurance law and analyzed whether claims would be covered under Professional Liability, General Liability and Cyber/Privacy Liability Polices.  Oliver is also a graduate of Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and is from Essex, Connecticut.

Outside of the office, Oliver enjoys skiing, horseback riding and traveling.  Oliver also speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and lives in Washington, DC with his wife.
